YOUR BOUDOIR PREPARATION GUIDE

Prepare gently.
There is no perfection required.

Everything you need to feel comfortable and ready, without turning your boudoir photoshoot into another enormous to do list.

Start the guide

STEP BY STEP

A calm plan
for your session.

Use this as a gentle guide, not a list of rules. Your body, hair and personal style do not need fixing before they are worthy of being photographed.

01

One week before

Start with simple skin care

Keep your routine gentle and familiar. Moisturise regularly, drink plenty of water and avoid trying strong new products, peels or treatments just before your shoot. Your real skin is welcome, so there is no need to chase perfection.

02

Two or three days before

Plan hair removal your way

Shaving, waxing or leaving your body hair exactly as it is are all completely valid choices. If you wax, allow a few days for redness to settle. If you shave, use a fresh razor, plenty of moisture and avoid rushing on the morning of your session.

03

A few days before

Choose lingerie that feels like you

Bring pieces that fit comfortably and make you feel good. Bodysuits photograph beautifully, matching sets feel polished and an oversized shirt can be just as gorgeous. Black, jewel tones, soft neutrals and bridal white all work. Aim for two to four complete looks depending on your collection.

04

While packing

Add layers and accessories

Think stockings, suspenders, heels, jewellery, a veil, robe, leather jacket, favourite shirt or meaningful personal item. Accessories add variety, but you do not need to bring your entire wardrobe. A few pieces you genuinely love are more than enough.

05

One or two days before

Prepare hands and feet

Hands and feet often appear in close photographs, so tidy nails make a lovely finishing touch. Choose a neutral shade, classic red, dark polish or simply clean natural nails. Matching fingers and toes are lovely, but absolutely not compulsory.

06

On the day

Hair and makeup

If professional hair and makeup are part of your experience, arrive with clean, dry hair and a freshly cleansed, moisturised face unless advised otherwise. If you are doing your own, create a slightly more polished version of the look that already makes you feel most like yourself.

07

On the way to your shoot

Avoid pressure marks

Wear loose clothing and comfortable shoes. Skip tight bras, socks, waistbands, watches and hair bands around your wrist for a few hours beforehand, as they can leave temporary marks on the skin. A loose dress, joggers or button-up shirt works perfectly.

08

Before you leave

Eat, hydrate and arrive gently

Please eat a proper meal, drink water and give yourself enough travel time. Bring your outfits, nude and black underwear, any accessories and your favourite music ideas. Nerves are allowed. You do not need to arrive knowing how to pose because I guide every detail.
